Topic Types
Topic types are a taxonomy set that can be used to categorize the topics.
A topic has a certain content structure. When making use of different topic types, you are able to categorize this content. This makes it easier to search for certain content in the overview, or on peoples profile.
The default topic types in Crew-List are:
- Blog
- Blogs which should be the most popular topic type for our members, represent subjects of continuing interest to members of the group or community as a whole. The term "blog" is short for "weblog," which refers to an online journal. Blogs began as personal mini sites that people used to record their opinions, stories, and other writings as well as photos and videos.
- Discussion
- Discussion topics, which many folks use represent anything worthy of talking about between members of the group or the community as a whole. ie: What is your opinion about certain shooting style?, or why has it taken so long to reduce the working hours on movie sets?, etc.
- News
- News topics represent reports about timely happenings surrounding the business. News is information that wasn't known before or current events. This is a great place to embed outside content as a reference from places like Variety, THR, Facebook, Twitter, and other media related websites.
- Reviews
- Film/Television Review ex: Your professional take on the Special Effects that were incorporated in a new or even classic fil or TV product.
- Product Review ex: The latest Makeup color set, or Arri's new filters, etc.
Hint: The use of embedding (pasting a URL) is the best way to draw the from the essence of an original article or webpage. If the original page is formatted correctly using Google OGC Standards, the webpage's main image and details should appear, otherwise only the URL will appear in the topic!
For the most part in each of these topic types we welcome the reprinting of any source as long as the poster recognizes and links to the original piece and offers the appropriate accreditation to each piece. In general, if a website offers their information for sharing on Social Media. While it is our goal to PROMOTE the work of others not to steal from it, we feel it is appropriate to share here UNLESS EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED by the original source. Crew List is not responsible for any action taken against its members who fail to heed the prohibitions of any material by its original resource!
