Events

Events allow users to organize, discuss topics, and join activities.
    Event

There are a few things you can do regarding an event:

    • Events can be placed outside a group (Option 1) or within a group (Option 2). When creating it outside a group the event is visible on the home page stream and on the profile of the author or the event overview in a group.
    • Eligible members can create an event by using the [+] button in the header menu or the button on the event overview page of your profile. When creating an event, you can choose to either add it to a group or not. You can also create an event in a group directly from the group itself.
      • Creating an event inside a Closed or Flexible group will only be available to members of that group.
    • An author can edit their own event, but site managers and content managers can edit any event created by others unless they are unpublished.
    • Same goes for deleting an event. This can be done at the bottom of the event edit page, or management roles can delete it from the content overview.

    Some notes on Events:

    • Enrollments on Crew-List are not necessarily the official reservations for those events!
    • Anyone registering an Event on Crew-List must designate in the event description the official registration method for that event ie: The Directors Guild, Writers Guild, Acme Theater, etc. along with the methods for official registration (website, phone, mail etc.)
    • If a Group Member wishes to submit an Event and have the registrations on Crew-List become the official method for including attendees, they may do so but also mention this as well in the body of the event description.
    • Crew-List is not liable or responsible any elements of an event. This service is only intended as an unofficial adjunct or means of notifying and inspiring the attendance of other community members of events of common interest within their respective Groups or the Community at large

    Using the editor

    • The following video demonstrates the use of the WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) Editor that is used to compose Topics.
    • Note: While the below video was developed to use a similar editor on another site (Motion Media), it should give you a fairly good primer on the one we use!
