Toys at 20th Century Fox 1992

I was part of the Toy crew. We built all the toys used. Most were pyro models and had to be built so that there would be no hard objects in the flying shrapnel when they were blown up. As also part of the crew driving these around I was peppered with bits of toy shrapnel. I could feel them bouncing off my face shield. I was there about a month building. And a month on the stag with 1st and 2nd unit.
I spent my days on set taking care of $10,000 worth of RC batteries that ran all on the toys. I was the 1st one on stage to give all 300 batteries a fresh charge for the days shooting. Kept the crew supplied with fresh batteries while draining the used batteries and then recharging them to full strength. After 1st and 2nd unit wrapped for the day, I stayed to drain all 300. I was the last one off stag. My days were usually 16 hours. Though the days were long I enjoyed the work.
