Registration & Profile Script
This script will guide you through the Registration
and Profile creation process...
|
We hope this little six Scene (plus Tag) script will help you better understand the process of completing your Crew List Profile! In registering for Crew List you have already entered your Email address and a Username. Now you must supply a few more REQUIRED fields. Then you may chose to leave the optional fields for later, however please bare in mind that once approved, the more complete Profiles reflect upon the member in the best possible 'key' light. For an even deeper look at the Crew List website and all of it's moving parts, don't forget to review the "Callsheet aka User Manual" |

DAY 1 |
Please remember that if you are registering for the first time, there is a waiting period for approval, as our Admins are in many cases working industry professionals volunteering their time in this effort! Therefore for your sake and theirs we ask that you only fill in a minimum number of "Required" fields until approved!
In this first scene, We explain how you may enter your First name, Last name, and upload your Profile images.
GOD (V.O.)
(DEEP BASE ECHO)
BEWARE My son, your first and last names are required and will replace your username in most displays on the Crew List website!
(PAUSING)
The need for usernames is for login security and also serves as an internal identifier for your account.
C.B. DE MILLE
(REFLECTING)
That's right, Oh holy one!
And uploading your Profile & Banner images can really make one's Profile Page stand out among the rest!
I just recommend that folks think of this in advance and upload good quality and appropriate images!
The Profile Image should be formatted, ideally in PORTRAIT mode, while the Banner image should be in LANDSCAPE mode, but regardless, once each image is uploaded, there's a cropping tool to "Make it right"
GOD (V.O.)
(STERNLY)
Just remember that these folks are Pro's... They know much of that already!
THUNDER IS HEARD ON THE EFFECTS TRACK
- First & Last name replaces your Username on the platform.
- Profile Image is associated with all of your content.
- Banner Image is the large image on top of your profile page.
- Use the crop tool to position images.
You may need to experiment by saving and re-cropping to taste.

- PHONE LOCATION AND MAP - |
DAY 1 |
In this section you may provide your Telephone Number and Address which serve to help others locate you via searches. Per our Data Policy and other site documents, we will never willingly share this information! CB will tell you more and our maps are set to prevent zooming in too close to specifically pinpoint your physical address...
C.B. DE MILLE
(HO HUM)
Not much to tell you here. You fill this information out on every job application.
Even as a Day Player!
Phone Number, Location, Profile Map
- Along with the display of your Email address, you are provided the option of toggling on or off the display all of the information in this section (including the map in your Account settings available via your user menu. (Click on your little profile photo - top right of main navigation menu).
- The Address fields are required* however, unless the address is a business, we recommend, for security purposes, that you leave the Street EMPTY, and use the Map below to set your location marker
. This will assist others in finding you on Common (World) Maps. - This information is also helpful in locating you via searches by location where only your City State/Province and Country are revealed. - Important Notes:
- For privacy purposes, if the address is a residence, we suggest leaving the Street name field empty (or with no number)!
- Business addresses are OK to use the street number!
- If your Icon is not showing on a common map, this may be due to another member who's address is very close by. Try moving the marker to a nearby location by zooming in and navigating to the spot and clicking. (You may need to fiddle with this)
- You may chose to turn on/off display of your email and phone/address/map in your Profile by editing your "settings" page which is accessible via the user menu!
- Example: Someone is looking for a Makeup Artist and a Camera Assistant in or near your Postal Code, City etc. and you fit the bill.
- Even if you have the display toggled off, any data entered will be searchable!
- When selecting your Country, the options will change to accommodate local mail conventions.
- Also for security reasons, we suggest entering a physical address ONLY if it is not a residence such as a business.
Notes on profile maps:
The first time enter your address information, the profile map will populate automatically.
Warning: Maps can be a bit tricky. If there are any spelling errors or other complications in your address above, you may need (or prefer) to edit the placement of the red icon
by zooming in all the way and clicking on or near your address location.
This may also become necessary in the case where your icon is buried behind another in a common map!
Please note: You may zoom in all the way to set your location marker in this edit view only.
For privacy purposes, once saved, Member Profile Maps are visible to others with limited zoom capabilities and the Information popup contains only your City, State/Province, and Country!

- BIO & CREDITS - |
DAY 1 |
If you are here as an applicant just trying to get approved, we ask that you use this simple editor field to tell provide a brief head start on you're Bio that will assist us in Qualifying you for membership! (Just a sentence or two is all we need)
Once approved for membership, this form is replaced by a full featured WYSIWYG Editor! What makes our platform unique from many other Social Media websites is to allow our members greater creative control over their online presentation. Here you will have the opportunity to show your biographical information.
C.B. DE MILLE
(WITH ENTHUSIASM)
W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G? you ask?
That's short for What You See Is What You Get!
Many folks prepare their Bio and even their Resume in advance in a word processor and then paste it in here. It is even possible to Carefully copy their credits from IMDb and paste them in as part of their Profile.
The Callsheet has more on this.
The editor you will use for your Profile's Bio and Credits as well as for your Demo presentation is an online WYSIWYG editor that is used to edit HTML documents in the browser.
So what does this mean?
-
The “online” part means that the Editor works in a web browser (like Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer or Safari).
-
The “WYSIWYG” part means that when you use Bio and Credits as well as the Demo Material presentation Editors, you can style the text and add rich media contents to your document in real time by using the editor User Interface (toolbar buttons, dialog windows), and the result will be seen immediately. If you click the Bold button, the text will become bold; it will appear straightaway.
-
Want it Italic, Underline, Subtext, Supertext, as a Link? Just select hit the button to turn it on and begin typing, when you want to go back to normal text, just hit the button again, Conversely, you can highlight (select) the part you want, hit the button; and that part will be affected!
-
Want it in Quotes?
- There are buttons for formatting paragraphs as Left, Center, Right, Justify (Full) are as easy as selecting the text and hitting the appropriate button!
- Adding images, embedding hosted videos (YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook) is accomplished by hitting a button and typing in the link!
Note: Just hover over the buttons with a mouse to see the function they apply! - Finally, you may wish to prepare your document in advance in a word processor or rich text editor on your computer such as Microsoft Word, or iWork. Then simply copy and paste that text into the editor and the use the button features to insert images, videos, tables etc. and the editor will convert them into the proper Website HTML!
Note: The formatting will look slightly different once you save! This may require some experimenting to get the final result... You can always edit the results!
This Editor is the same as you will use for submitting content such as Topics and Events etc!

- SEARCH TAGS - |
DAY 1 |
Tags are important in that they are essentially key words that associate you, your skills and/or interests on website searches. If you want to know every member who has entered "Golf" in their Personal Interests, just use the search tool on the top menu, type in "Golf" and "Bingo!!" there's your list of links lovers!
Of course more serious searches like searching a country to find all references to that location, or finding all the "Makeup" folks are quite possible, so the use of Tags merely extends your "Search-ability"!
C.B. DE MILLE
Making sure your Professional and Personal Tags have been entered is like "Craft Service passing out the Ice Cream Treats on a hot summer's Fraterday night around midnight!"
